History

Care Lochaber was originally founded in the late 1990s by a group of like-minded people who wanted to work towards helping improve the lives of individuals in their later years and those who were less mobile. The group was constituted in 1997 and eventually became a registered charity in 2007.

The group initially received funding for a two year post to employ someone to develop projects highlighted as areas of need within the community.  Since then, the organisation has grown and changed over the years – but what hasn’t changed, is the dedication and motivation of those volunteers who give their time and energy to Care Lochaber. Without the ongoing commitment of all the volunteers who support us, we simply wouldn’t be where we are today. We are indebted to each and every one of them – just saying thank you would never be enough.

Over the years we have worked on many different projects, but providing the community car scheme service remains our priority.
